I don’t want to hold back in 2019. I want to keep pushing my content. I want to work with more brands. I want to keep growing.
It still surprises me to this day how far I’ve come since launching my blog in 2014, and that’s an example of why you should never doubt your capabilities.
This year, I’m ending on a high. Not only have I achieved more than I set out, I now have an incredible community of readers who are enjoying my daily motivation posts on Twitter, my posts keeping you updated on what’s happening in my life and also my general feelings about blogging.
It’s not just going be a blog
Read any of my tweets in the last 24 hours talking about my idea of mentoring others? It’s something I’ve thought of for a while. I want to pass on what I’ve learned. I want to help others succeed. I want people to grow with me.
Mentoring brings my knowledge and experience from these 4 years together, to enable more people to learn who they are, grow their content and following and stand out from the crowd.
Interested in being mentored by me? I’m offering 20 people the chance to help trial my idea. You can show your interest via the form below.
Continue what I’m doing
Mentoring might be something I’m putting into place in 2019, but that doesn’t mean my content will be changing. I want to stick with how things look. I want to keep writing how I feel. I want to keep looking at new ways to capture my images and continue taking them in a way you feel part of my journey.
For the last 4 years, I’ve struggled at times to be consistent. Now I’ve found my feet in the blogging world and I’m happy with how my content looks and presents itself, I want to keep it as it is.
This is me. This is John Sennett. My blog is a representation of who I am. Meet me at an event or at the UK Blog Awards in April and you’ll already know me. I’m the same in person.
2019 isn’t going to change who I am. I’m going to be the same guy with big plans and a lot of hunger to succeed.
I’m going to create my own success
Know those motivational tweets I post? I take pride in them. I know what happens in blogging, but I create my own success. We’re all on our paths. We’re all looking for gaps.
The gap I’m looking to fill is giving more people the chance to get to know me. What happens in blogging happens in blogging. Some people get caught up with it all and there I am just enjoying being me and doing my own thing.
My success is built on my actions. My actions are from my ideas. My ideas are from the thoughts I have on the things I want to do.
I want to do a lot. I want to do them long-term. I’m here to stay. I’m here for the long run. Blogging has changed my life. It’s opened doors for me. It’s created opportunities to self-love, to develop and to speak up. It’s seen me open up about my feelings. It’s brought some incredible people into my life.
Saying no to…
You might have noticed that some of my ‘planned’ series’ are not running. I weren’t feeling them. I didn’t feel like they were me.
Sometimes in blogging, you have to turn your back on certain ideas. Some ideas seem great at first, but not so much when they actually happen or when the next idea in the series needs to be created.
‘The story of John Sennett’ needs to be about me. It needs to be about my story. It’s in the title. It needs to be relevant. Blog series’ weren’t doing that for me or my blog’s brand.
BRAND, BRAND, BRAND!
A big thing in 2019 is my identity. I want to be known as John Sennett, not ‘The story of John Sennett’. I want people to know who I am. I want people to know what I’m all about.
This’ll come through in my personal posts. It’ll come through in my images. It’ll come through via my brand collaborations.
Brand collaborations is a big thing also in 2019. I’ve worked with some incredible brands and I want this to keep going. I want to take it up a notch. I’m saying ‘no’ more. Taking it up a notch doesn’t mean I’ll be taking on more opportunities, but opportunities I see are better fitting to my blog and the respect the brand shows in retrospect to my content.
It’s going to be a big year. Every year I’ve blogged, the bigger it’s gotten. I’m growing quick. My message is getting out there. More people are viewing my stuff and interacting with my thoughts.
That’s what I want. This is my 2019.
What are you planning in 2019? What would you like to achieve?
