Exploring with nakd and Trek

Gluten free, Wheat free, Dairy free, I’ve recently been exploring with two Natural Balance Foods products; nakd and Trek.

I was introduced to nakd bars back in January. The nutritious bar, advertised as “raw fruits and nuts lovingly smooshed together” (as said on their website); I was eager to go one step further and try the majority of their range.

Cocoa Orange was the first bar I had of their range back in January.

I’m not normally a fan of raw fruits, so it has taken me more than 1 bar to get used to the product.

Labelled clearly at the back of the bars with what the bar contains, it was nice to see foods I wouldn’t normally eat smooshed together.

The ingredients of the Cocoa Coconut nakd bar

Nakd reminds me of your childhood. Remember when your parents would try to get you to eat the food you didn’t like by hiding it in something you did, this pretty much sums up my opinion of their products.

If the ingredients were separate, I’m not sure I’d eat them, but together, they work amazingly! They’ve hit the nail on the head and got these products spot on!

You get the instant flavour of what’s being advertised. The Bakewell Tart bar gave me an ooooohh aaahhh moment! I love marzipan!

The Lemon Drizzle bar gave me an instant kick of lemon, even with only 5% lemon in the bar. Wizardry I know!

The product range, which can be viewed here have given me a way to get in 1 of my 5 day, whilst enjoying some of my favourite flavours.

Trekking with Trek

Trek, a 10g protein energy bar, also a product range of Natural Balance Foods, is a lot heavier than the nakd products.

But, what they offer is with a delicious combination of fruits, gluten free oats and nuts to keep you going, these healthy snacks have no added sugar or syrups.

I’ve been consuming these bars before and after any forms of exercise. Similar to the nakd range, I’ve been surprised at how much I’ve enjoyed these bars; the Banana Blast being my favourite.

I love Bananas. I love Banana Milkshake. I’ve never liked dried Banana however, until now. Trek have provided me with an alternative version by smooshing them with other goodness.

Verdict: nakd or Trek

I definitely prefer nakd bars. Trek bars are amazing, but the variety of flavours with the nakd bars is what wins it for me.

Nakd are a lot lighter. I found them easier to consume. Also, knowing my daily lifestyle, the nakd range are far better suited for me.

You can read up more about the Nakd range by clicking here.

Alternatively, if you’d like more information on the Trek bars, you can by clicking here.

A massive shoutout to Natural Balance Foods for sending me their products to try. I’ve thoroughly enjoying trying both bars, and thank you for giving me a healthier option to snacking and providing bars containing ingredients I wouldn’t normally try!

*No money was exchange for this review. Natural Balance Foods received an email from me asking to try their range. The brand sent a variety of bars to try to be included in this blog post.

    1. It all comes down to contacting them directly. I do have a blog post coming up in the next 10 days all about working with brands, and the process I take in achieving brand partnerships/collaborations.

  1. I’ve actually never heard of these before! I’m not a big fruit person, but so long as they taste good I’m willing to give them a try. Thanks for reviewing them!
