10 things you should know about John Sennett

Part of this new direction with the blog is to give you a better insight into my life and who I am.

I was thinking about the best way to start this new direction, and thought, why don’t I start with the basics?

Hey everyone! Hopefully you know who I am?! If not, my name is John Sennett, a 26 year old based on the South Coast of the UK, with a big heart and big smile. Most people will know be for my charity work, and the difference I’ve made to lives across the UK and around the world.

For some time now, I’ve openly spoken about things that happened in my childhood. It was a time tough for me with a close family member passing, and others battling for their lives.

I’m a bit of a dreamer. I strive to be the best person I can be, and have been on a self-discovery journey for some time. I know who I am now. I’m John Sennett.

Here’s 10 more things you should know about me…

1 – I’m a Valentine’s Day baby

Yep, you heard it here! As embarrassing as it is, I was born on February 14th 1992.

2 – I love helping others

Giving 5 1/2 years of my time to charities across the globe, I found a love for helping others. The simplest action can make someone’s day, and I can’t count how many amazing memories I now have from seeing someone smile.

3 – I’m bald

UH-OH!! I pointed out the obvious! I started losing my hair from 18, and decided to take the plunge and shave it all off. It took time to get used to the Phil Mitchell look, but I’m all about body positivity. Embrace what you have, even if it means you have less hair than your Dad!

4 – I’m a really open person

Ask me something about my life, and I’ll share it. I find by opening up, I’m more confident in my own skin.

5 – I LOVE a good day out

You may have seen recently on my social media feeds, but if not,  I love heading to the beach, visiting a local nature reserve, and exploring new cities. I also love visiting the same places over and over again. I like to visit places where there’s a memory.

6 – Big Bang Theory is my favourite TV show

OMG! Shamy’s recent wedding! How can you not love them? I cried a bit during their wedding!

7 – I’m a huge lover of musicals

Who doesn’t love a good sing-a-long? I’ve seen Legally Blonde (for my girlfriend’s 21st), Billy Eliot, Blood Brothers, Addams Family, Grease to name a few.

Can you guess my favourite musical though?

8 – The gym is my second home

I have a background in sport, and took a Personal Training course in 2010. The gym is the place I can let off steam.

9 – Walking helps me to relax

The freedom walking brings, especially with beautiful surroundings, helps me to forget what’s happening in my life, and just focus on that moment.

10 – I eat a lot

I love me some food! Some days I have 2 dinners. I always carry snacks when I’m on a day out. I’m never happy with a small meal if i eat out.

There you go! 10 facts about who I am, and I’m sure over time, you’ll get to know who I am a lot more.

If you ever have any questions about who I am, my life or my plans for the future; including for this blog, please feel free to ask.

Until next time…

  1. It was great to read more about who you are John. There’s a lot I have in common with you. These 10 things is a great introduction to your blog/website and everything looks really fresh. Well done!

  2. Well we have #1,#2,#4,#5,#9 and #10 in common! I like stage musicals too, but not when they transfer to film / tv. I think they work best live. I adored Blood Brothers. Last year I saw Jesus Christ, Superstar at Regents Park Open Air Theatre which I highly recommend. They are doing it again there this summer.
